Welcoming Leanne McCallum Desselle to HEAL
HEAL Trafficking welcomes Leanne McCallum Desselle as our new Director of Education & Engagement. Leanne brings extensive experience in training, technical assistance, research, community engagement, and multidisciplinary responses to human trafficking.
We’re excited to share that Leanne McCallum Desselle is joining HEAL Trafficking as our Director of Education & Engagement.
Leanne brings extensive experience across human trafficking, training and technical assistance, research, community engagement, and multidisciplinary systems work. Her approach is shaped by her experience managing and implementing multidisciplinary victim service programs in Louisiana and by a commitment to practical, evidence-based, and trauma-informed responses to human trafficking.
She has served as a speaker, trainer, and technical assistance consultant for organizations including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance, the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime, Freedom Network USA, and others. Leanne has also previously shared her expertise with our community as a presenter through the HEAL Network.

As Director of Education & Engagement, Leanne will lead HEAL’s education and engagement efforts, including training, technical assistance, and resources that support healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary partners in strengthening their responses to human trafficking.

Leanne holds a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies, where she concentrated on human rights and human trafficking, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Political Science from Linfield University.
