The International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference is the largest and oldest academic conference on human trafficking and social justice issues. Hosted annually by the University of Toledo’s Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute, the conference brings together thousands of advocates, healthcare professionals, researchers, law enforcement officials, legal experts, and survivors from around the world.

Since its inception in 2004, the conference has served as a global platform for sharing research, promising practices, and survivor-led insights to advance the fight against human trafficking and related forms of exploitation. The 2025 conference will be held virtually from September 17–19, 2025, making it accessible to a worldwide audience.

Participants will gain:

  • Access to cutting-edge research and innovative practices addressing both sex and labor trafficking.
  • Opportunities to network with professionals across healthcare, social services, advocacy, policy, and law enforcement sectors.
  • Sessions led by survivors, ensuring strategies and interventions are informed by lived experience.
  • Tools to strengthen prevention, protection, and prosecution efforts in diverse settings.
